Verified Critics
Reel Critix is building the first verified critic roster for AI cinema. Founding critics shape what the scores mean.
The roster is forming now
We are inviting critics who already write about AI film - including festival jurors from Project Odyssey, Curious Refuge and the Runway AI Film Festival. Applications are open.
Who qualifies
- Six or more published reviews or critical essays about AI-made moving-image work in the past twelve months.
- A public, attributable byline - a real name, or a stable long-running identity.
- A venue with an archive: an outlet, magazine, newsletter, YouTube channel or podcast.
- Work that makes a judgement. Tool tutorials and release summaries are not criticism.
- Editorial independence from model vendors. Vendor-affiliated writers are not excluded - they are admitted with a permanent visible disclosure and reduced weight.
What you get
- A verified byline and profile with your full body of work.
- Your reviews counted in the Critic Score at a published weight band.
- A say in the methodology while it is still being written.
How weighting works
Every critic starts at provisional (0.5×) regardless of pedigree - reputation here is earned here - and moves through standard (1.0×), established (1.5×) and senior (2.0×). We publish the criteria and the bands. We do not publish per-critic numbers, because that is an invitation to game them.
Apply
To be listed, send your byline, your venue and three representative pieces. Every application is reviewed by a human.
